Japan is a country like none other. The blend of modern technology and ancient tradition will astound your senses and bring a smile to your face. The spring and fall are beautiful times to explore Japan. The brilliant reds and yellows of the leaves or Cherry Blossom Season further enhance the natural beauty of the Kansai region of Japan, where your adventure will take place. The Kansai region of Japan is rich with culture, beauty, cycling tradition, sake, a few small craft breweries and glorious roads to ride and explore.  You will spend the first half of this trip cycling in Kyoto and the surrounding mountains. We will cycle around Japan's largest lake, Biwa-ko, through old castle towns, while resting at local temples and gardens. The second half of the adventure is in Nara and Wakayama. On this portion of the adventure we will ride along some of the most sacred roads in the area following portions of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route. This tour is best enjoyed in the late fall or spring but can be enjoyed in almost any season. Whether you are living in Japan and want an adventure, visiting Japan and want to get off the beaten path, or simply love to ride this is the trip for you. This trip is fully supported by our bi-lingual guides to ensure you get the most out of your Japan vacation.
