Trip Itinerary
Day One – Ghent
We begin in the beautiful medieval city of Ghent with a visit to the world-renowned Huyghe “Delirium” Brewery. In the evening, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner to kick off the journey.
Day Two – Ghent to Oudenaarde (~25 miles)
After breakfast, we set out along the canal toward Oudenaarde, home of cycling history. We’ll visit the Tour of Flanders Museum and stop at the Liefmans Brewery. The evening brings a special treat: a beer and chocolate pairing at the oldest pub in town.
Day Three – Oudenaarde to Kortrijk (~25 miles)
Today’s highlight is a visit to Brouwerij Verhaeghe Vichte, makers of the famed Duchesse de Bourgogne or Brasserie Omer Vander Ghinste. The ride ends in Kortrijk, a city rich with 13th-century history, where we’ll relax and enjoy its charming atmosphere.
Day Four – Kortrijk to Watou/Poperinge (~50 miles)
This ride is steeped in history. We stop in Ypres, the heart of Flanders Fields, to explore one of the world’s finest WWI museums. From there, we continue to the Abbey of Sint-Sixtus, where the legendary Westvleteren beers—among the best in the world—are brewed.
Day Five – Watou/Poperinge to Bruges (~45 miles)
Awakening among hop fields, we ride through windmill-dotted landscapes and quaint villages en route to Bruges. Along the way, we’ll touch on more WWI history near the coast and explore the far western reaches of Flanders before arriving in this fairy-tale city.
Day Six – Bruges to Ghent (~30 miles)
Our final ride follows the scenic Bruges–Ghent canal back to Ghent. That evening, we’ll celebrate the week with a beer tasting aboard a boat, cruising the city’s picturesque canals.
Day Seven – Departure
After one last breakfast together, we’ll check out of the hotel and say our farewells—until the next adventure. Extra nights in Ghent can be arranged for those who wish to extend their stay.
