Explore Portugal’s Atlantic coast on a relaxed, fun, and eco-friendly cycling journey from Lisbon to the Algarve. This trip is all about slow travel, fresh air, great riding, and connecting with the landscapes, culture, and people that make Portugal so special—by bike, at the perfect pace.

Starting in Lisbon, we transfer to our castle lodging and quickly find ourselves on quiet roads winding through coastal parks, fishing villages, and open countryside. The ride blends scenic Atlantic coastline, rolling hills, and hidden backroads that keep you close to nature and far from traffic and tourist crowds.

You’ll pass through the stunning Arrábida Natural Park, where forested slopes meet turquoise water, before continuing along the wild and beautiful Costa Vicentina. This protected coastline is one of Europe’s great cycling regions—unspoiled beaches, dramatic cliffs, and a constant sense of space and freedom.

This is a journey designed for enjoyment rather than endurance. Daily rides are rewarding but accessible, with plenty of time to stop for coffee in local cafés, and beach breaks. The atmosphere is social, relaxed, and inclusive—perfect for riding with friends or meeting new ones along the way. All that being said be ready for some hills.

Evenings are spent in welcoming local stays chosen for their character and connection to the region. Expect fresh, seasonal Portuguese food, shared meals, local wines and craft beer, and plenty of time to unwind after a day in the saddle.

Sustainability is at the heart of the experience: slow travel, supporting local businesses, minimizing impact, and experiencing Portugal in a way that respects the landscapes and communities you ride through.

    • All lodging during the adventure is based on double occupancy.

    • This trip requires an intermediate level of fitness. The daily rides vary from 20 - 60 miles with altitude gains each day.
