Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Oslo

We begin in the vibrant city of Oslo. You have the opportunity to explore its rich history and cultural attractions. Today we will fit our bicycles and make sure everything is all set for our ride. In the evening we will enjoy our first meal together and get ready for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Oslo to Hønefoss

~54 km and 840m of elevation gain.

Leaving Oslo, we embark on our gravel adventure, cycling towards Hønefoss. Pedal through beautiful countryside scenery, passing by idyllic lakes and rolling hills. Our route takes you along the old Kings Road connecting Oslo and Bergen. The descent off the kings road into Hønefoss is amazing! Hønefoss is a charming town located on the banks of the Storelva River, take in the serene surroundings and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Did I mention they have a brewery in to too.

Day 3: Hønefoss to Norefjell

~58 km and 1130m of elevation gain

Today's route takes us deeper into the heart of Norway's natural wonders. Cycling towards Norefjell, you'll witness breathtaking mountain vistas and dense forests. The Norefjell Ski and Spa is a highlight of this leg, where you spend the evening and marvel at the stunning alpine landscapes. There is a pool and spa at the hotel to help sooth the legs from past two days riding.

Day 4: Norefjell to Rødberg

~60 km and 1100m of elevation gain.

Leaving Norefjell behind, we continue our adventure towards Rødberg. As we pedal through the scenic valleys and winding roads, you'll be captivated by the rugged beauty of the Norwegian countryside. After leaving the tarmac behind we will enter the largest Forest preserve in Norway. The gravel track through the preserve is dotted with sheep, waterfalls and views that are beyond description.

Day 5: Rødberg to Haugastøl

~88 km and 1570m of elevation gain.

Today's ride takes us to Haugastøl, situated at an impressive elevation of 1000 meters above sea level. Just a few kilometers outside of Rødberg we leave the pavement behind and ride one of the best gravel roads I have found in Norway. Dotted with lakes, streams and alpine views this section is stunning. As we finish the gravel we are treated to a brilliant tarmac downhill before two short climbs through an area you will want to go back and visit skiing in the winter. The panoramic views from the top are simply awe-inspiring, making every pedal stroke worth it. As you approach Haugastøl, the landscape transforms into an alpine wonderland. Here our hotel looks out over the the lake Ustevatn. Here we will enjoy a meal and rest before the final day of riding this trip.

Day 6: Haugastøl to Fläm

~81km and 920m of elevation gain

Our final leg of the tour leads us to the picturesque village of Fläm, nestled in the heart of the Norwegian fjords. Todays route is along the iconic Rallarvegen cycling route. Most of todays route is only accessible by walking or riding. This gravel track is a mix of smooth gravel, light mountain biking and sometimes the occasional snow field. The village of Finse, where we will eat an early lunch, was the filming location for the “Battle of Hoth” in The Empire Strikes Back. As we cycle towards Fläm, we'll witness the grandeur of the magnificent waterfalls that cascade down the mountainsides. As we approach civilazation there is a twisty gravel downhill that opens up to a view of the Aurlandsfjord. Upon arrival in Fläm, take time to soak in the tranquility and beauty of this charming destination. Tonight we celebrate with a beer at the local brewery connected to our hotel.

Day 7: Fläm to Bergen

Explore Fläm in the morning before our afternoon ferry to Bergen. This “ferry ride” is the same route the Fjord tour boats go so you get to enjoy a magical float into Bergen.
