GREAT LAKES, GREAT BREWS - DOOR COUNTY

Lake Michigan and the Door County Peninsula

One of Money Magazine’s “Top 10 vacation destinations in North America”, Door County boasts some of the most scenic coastline of Lake Michigan. Mix in the fresh, local food and beer and you’ll see why we chose this location! Each night we will stay at a campsite overlooking Lake Michigan, giving us the opportunity to go for a dip in the Lake, enjoy a hike through the forests or just relax and listen to the birds sing into the sunset. After we arrive in Sheboygan, we take three days to cycle north next to the coast. Along the way, we will stop and tour local breweries and sample the fresh cuisine that makes the coast of Lake Michigan an unassuming gastronomic destination.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1- Transfer from Milwaukee to Sheboygan
Kohler Andrae State Park
After a transfer to the Campsite, we will ride into the town of Sheboygan to tour 3 Sheeps Brewing Company and have a welcome dinner at Hops Haven.

Day 2- Sheboygan to Two Rivers
Point Beach State Forest
A 44-mile bike ride will take us straight up the coast of Lake Michigan. We will stop in the city of Manitowoc for some lunch and to tour the Courthouse Pub, before continuing north to the campsite for a guide-cooked dinner.

Day 3- Two Rivers to Sturgeon Bay
Potawatomi State Park
Our longest day of the trip, we will ride 55 miles continuing up the coast of Lake Michigan. After we get settled, we will drive out to take a tour of Starboard Brewing Company and to eat at the Nistebox- Door County’s only food truck.

Day 4- Sturgeon Bay to Fish Creek

Our last day of cycling takes us 40 miles along the coast in Door County. About into the ride, we will reach Door County Brewing Company, where we will have a tour to be followed by a picnic lunch on the lake. From there, we ride through wetlands, forests and an animal sanctuary before arriving at Wilson’s Ice Cream shop- showing off Door County’s finest in dairy treats.
